Ingon Manor is pleased to introduce Mr Andy Barton, as our newly appointed Head golf professional. As a class AA P.G.A golf professional a great deal of his time has been devoted to learning the art of coaching and delivering golf lessons to players of all abilities. Andy is looking forward to meeting all of the members of Ingon Manor & visitors to ensure that you have an enjoyable game of golf.
Andy turned professional in 2005, where his first place of work was Lilleshall Hall Golf club in Shropshire. he completed his 3 years training and graduated 2009 at The University of Birmingham with a BA (Hons) Foundation Degree Professional Golf Studies. He was then offered a position at the Shirley Golf Club, and moved on to become the head teaching professional. Andy is Warwickshire County Academy Coach, which means he has been responsible for identifying young talent within the county and providing unique coaching packages to these children with the aim of feeding the county squads. To compliment this he has been involved in providing golf programmes to many of the mainstream schools across Birmingham and Solihull in conjunction with Golf Roots and England golf, with the aim of introducing children to golf and providing clear pathways to a future in the game. Whilst working for the academy he has also had the privilege of coaching children with special needs and disabilities at local schools and back at the club, and more recently writing my own junior programme (golfzone Journey) which has now been launched at 4 different venues across the midlands.
Over the coming months Andy is really looking forward to meeting all the members of Ingon Manor and maybe joining them on the course for a game and of course the mandatory 19th hole after. As I’m sure you will see from above coaching is a big part of his career so he will be launching a coaching academy in January which will endeavor to provide a diverse range of instructional programmes to suit every player from beginner to elite, both individual and group sessions using the latest coaching software and teaching.
